This. FIL just died and of course didn’t plan ahead for anything and we’re hoping there’ll be something from his estate to cover what we’ve paid for and still have to pay. Cremation is almost $2k, the church has fees for everything, we have to fly, rent a car, etc. Casket, flowers, etc. total waste of money.

I'm a PP who posted about cremation. Science doesn't always want bodies. My mother wanted to donate her body to science and they said no thanks, they had too many already. However, I have a patient who made arrangements with a medical school who agreed to accept him after he dies. You should contact some medical schools in advance and try to arrange it/ get them to sign something.
