I’ve had nanny shareand daycare and I saw absolutely no difference between 1 nanny : 2 kids and 1 daycare teacher per 3 kids. Remember that twins, triplets, and kids in large families all form attachment successfully.

One thing I heard and believe “no child has ever suffered from having more loving adults in their life.”

Aw yes I have such fond memories. One of the teachers in my son’s infant room was basically the head teacher who ran the day and the other was an older woman who seemed to spend the day just cuddling and holding the babies. My son was absolutely doted on. Both of them were gentle and kind to my son and it made that stage of life so much easier.

I remember thinking, it takes a certain personality to care for infants (personally I enjoy working with older kids) but for some people who like babies it must be absolute heaven. Haha.

We ADORED Bambini Federal Triangle's infant room. It was really spectacular.

PP who wrote about babies only taking short naps, not being fed on demand and being exhausted in the evenings until 6 months. That sounds really horrible to me for my tiny infant to go through, and I would not take it for more than 2 weeks and withdraw my baby, can have long lasting health effects if infants are not fed on demand, I cannot believe some parents say they are still happy with their daycares if this was their experience. Horrible is the word!

My son goes to a BH in a federal building (I get a steep discount as an employee of that agency) and I love it. I used to drop in to nurse twice a day so I saw them holding or interacting with babies constantly. They also have a music guy who comes in to sing to the babies about once a week and there are lots of activities. They've also helped a lot with tips for diaper rash and dealing with teething. He really hasn't gotten sick much at all either, mostly some minor sniffles.

DS has been at at Bambini’s Reagan Building location since 6mo and we are quite happy. He seems to enjoy his class and his teachers and it’s convenient to my office.

Yes, i ADORE the infant room my son is in at First Baptist. A shame they are closing.

We were, too! The infant room teachers were great!

When my DS was a baby, I used a family child care provider. I found a lovely grandmotherly provider who would care for two infants only, and not take on other children. That was the best! Like a nanny, but in her home, with one other baby. Probably not very common, but on occasion you might find it.

Having someone care for your baby can be hard. It helps to think of them as a partner in caring for your child (and not let thoughts of competing with them for the baby's affection creep into your mind). Good luck!
