I just think she’s not a physical fit for the role. In the book she intimidates people because she is so much taller than everyone around her (excepting Jamie). And she has flaming red hair; she instantly sticks out wherever she goes. People react to her a certain way because of her size and looks- that can’t happen in the series, where she is pretty but average.

People hate Tom Brady for lots of legit reasons:
He looks like Frankenstein.
He cheated on his pregnant GF to woo Giselle...and Giselle is a terrible know it all.
He’s a trumpster.
Like Heughan, he has a receding hairline.
Heughan can’t act. Have you seen him in other films? No bueno. And, he’s just not leading man handsome unless he’s playing Jamie from early seasons (with the wigs, the chivalrous and shirtless sex appeal, etc.).

Then why not deviate from the crummy books and make it interesting?
The series has deviated from the books, both in small and big ways. In the books, Murtagh dies during the Battle of Culloden. His character is alive and well in the series, which alters the storyline drastically. I enjoy the surprises. Otherwise, it’s all too predictable.
I enjoyed the books (although they are so long!), and will continue to watch the series. They’re under contract for a 6th season, so there will be one more after series 5 which premieres next weekend.
I wish they would write out Brianna. The actress who plays her is terrible.

He seems like a really decent human being IRL, so it’s hard for me to dislike him. I think he’s perfect as Jamie but agree that he’s not a great actor otherwise.

Ratings dropped, cable dropped STARZ, and Sam Heughan wants to do movies. The thing is, he isn’t leading man attractive (thinning hair, thin lips, and gay).
I think he’s fine to look at. Sadly, it’s his acting that will keep him from movie success.
lol he's not gay
Google says otherwise.
He was out while in drama school, then went back in once he realized he had a shot beyond theater. His male companion lives with him/travels with him. Lots of evidence on social media (though he keeps his SM free of references).
Google said it so it must be true. Lol.
He has said he’s not gay but doesn’t care if people think that he is. That carries more weight with me than stupid gossip.
What do you expect him to say? He’s vying for the James Bond gig.
Its not blind gossip. There are pics with him and his longtime partner. And the articles I’ve read online made it seem like his agent made him scrub the internet to prior references since had been openly out during drama school.
Do you have a link?
Is your google broken?
NP. If you are going to make the claim then you need to back it up. Otherwise, it’s filed under BS.
