I'm sorry, I'm just reciting from factual life experience. I am not promoting anything. All I am saying, or have said, is that people in my family have done it bumping up against 50 and I know of people that did have a kid at 50. I'm sorry you don't know of anyone in your circle that has never had this happen, but don't shoot down the rest of us who have.

Fine that someone or a few in your family have and you have extremely unique genes. The odds of most anyone getting pregnant and carrying to term and having a healthy baby is minuscule. It’s actual cruel to perpetuate that it’s “normal” or a regular thing.

Oh lord. Please don’t. My mother is 68 and had early onset dementia. Imaging saddling an 18 year old with that. You just don’t know how you’re going to age.

My grandma was in her late 40's when she had my aunt. Her oldest daughter was 24 at the time. I also know a 49 year old I worked with that got pregnant and gave birth at 50 and it was a complete surprise. It's a bit wrong to say that someone giving birth at 50 are doing a disservice to their kids, because even if you give birth at 50 like my coworker - and it was her own egg, too - it means her kid will be 20 when she is 70. She can't help that, no more than my grandma could help being 68 and mother to a 20 year old. She was a hard core Catholic and birth control wasn't a thing. If it happens late in life no one should be shamed for it as you never know if it was an oops baby unless they confirm they used a donor. I know my coworker and grandma would feel terrible if someone told them they shouldn't be moms at that age. It just happens sometimes.

This. I got pregnant quickly at age 41 without even really trying other than no birth control, and gave birth at 42 full term. At age 43 and 45 still had no problem getting pregnant, but miscarriages. At 46, I believe it is possible I can get pregnant, I am pretty sure said pregnancy would not be viable.

The German woman who had ivf donor/donor quads had her last natural conception at ~56.

Still she is younger than OP. I bet your friend became pregnant at 48 and gave birth at 49. OP is 50 already and is asking can she give birth with her own eggs. There’s a difference.

My grandma had her last baby in 1932 at age 48. My o.b. Said she delivered a naturally conceived (and by all indicators healthy) baby to a 56 yo mother. That said, very highly unlikely.
