Op here. So I ended up letting DH handle it - he called and MIL was sounding very depressed. DH offered some dates (after dd’s bday) to get together. MIL said that they’ll probably just drive down to drop her presents off and head back. He said that would be weird to just drive 2hrs to drop off presents and not even spend any time together. And if they wanted to do that, they should just mail the gifts. MIL was annoyed that he was saying she was being weird. Anyway after a 30min back and forth, they decided onadate to do dinner.

Do you think MIL was upset with us? Are we in the wrong? Should I even spend any time thinking about it? It’s been handled by DH after all.
