My husband designs video games for a living so I give him a pass since it’s made us wealthy.

Agree with other posters asking how is this any different than going to play golf all day with the guys, watching sports, etc or for women — girls night out, “book club”, etc.

Give me a break. Who cares what he does for a hobby.

Discuss it if it bothers you. Fortnite is better than going out and drinking all hours of the night or sitting at home with a bottle by himself. Find shows to watch together? Or like the other poster said, play Fortnite with him one evening and he does what you prefer the next.

But a discussion will help if it’s not attacking the other person.

Yes, it is unreasonable. He is an adult and has a hobby. It’s not harming anyone and there are benefits such as hand eye coordination as he ages that helps from gaming. There are plenty of men that play Fortnite (especially with their kids).

Who cares? If he has down time and wants to u wind from your incessant nagging and chores why not let him. Him playing fortnight doesn’t stop you from doing something.

Is it because he’s doing something you don’t want to do?

Let the man play. He doesn’t need to be a t your constant beck and call. It doesn’t sound like he is being intentionally passive aggressive or trying to avoid you. It’s the equivalent of reading a book and wanting to finish a chapter.

Fortnite levels aren’t usually that long unless he is really good at it. He is probably killed after ten minutes.

Sounds like a way to deal with boredom. That’s why I’m always scrolling DCUM. Maybe suggest a “no screens” time like 7-8 every night so 6-10 every Friday or whatever where you both out down the bones and at least watch a screen together.
