You have bigger problems than your next car.
Meh, people like their luxury brands. It’s not a problem if you can afford it.

One doesn’t buy a nice 4000 sq ft house and drives a 1991 Honda Civic. That’s embarrassing. Appearance matters!
Yes, but what about having to take the luxury to the garage all the time. Isn't not having to go to the garage more important?
I had a friend whose new Cadillac was always in the shop and another whose Mercedes dies out all the time. They both took it as normal part of luxury.
Appearance matters? What a bunch of immature and insecure comments. I own a 1.2MM house, have net worth of $3mm and the car in my driveway is a 2003 Camry. I couldn’t give a crap what people think.
The Millionnaire Next Door approach. Smart.

We live in the DMV. Where people make $250k HHI and still love paycheck to paycheck just to keep up with the Joneses. You remember when the government shut down last winter and people were taking out loans just to pay their next mortgage?
I had a neighbor who had to lease the newest Porsche 911 every two fears because he was worried about driving an outdated car. Paid 600 a month.
This anecdote sounds made up, a new 911 is easily $1200/month to lease

That was my experience, looking at the CX5 vs Q5. No comparison - I thought the Mazda seats and ride quality were terrible. To each her own, I guest. I love my Audi - makes me happy to drive, and no issues after 7 years.

OP here. The fit and finish in the Mazda won us over, so we decided to go with that this weekend. 2020 Mazda CX-9 Signature with all the bells and whistles. Price was about 25k cheaper than a fully loaded q7. The Audi feels like I’m paying for a badge as the quality feels about 10 years behind the Mazda. The Audi had too much cheap plastic and the 3rd row seat is basically useless in the Audi. Don’t need another status symbol car like I thought initially. Thanks everyone

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:How much is the cx9? I don't think I'd pay $50k for it. $60k for an audi seems like a better bet. Are you going to lease?
The Cx9 signature is 45k. Fully loaded Audi prestige pushes 80k.
My friend has a q5. It’s crammed and been in the shop almost every month.
And big no to the Kia. Those are awful.
