He was 7 lb 10 oz at birth and 21 inches. By 2 years old he was 39 inches tall and in the 100th percentile for weight as well.
DH is 6’3” and his brother also the same height. They have super tall male relatives on both sides.
I’m 5’6” and adopted so we don’t know what’s going on with that side.
Ped is predicting taller than 6’2” and shorter than 6’5.” We shall see.

She has her growth plates measured once a year (she has a 2 year delay) meaning at 6 her body is at the size she is supposed to be at 3 not 6. She is very small (.01 percentile but doctors now compare her on charts with her bone age not her actual age and she’s average. Supposedly she’s either going to have a huge growth spurt or she will just continue growing longer meaning if most girls grow until they are 16/17 she may continue growing until she is 19. She has had a lot of bloodwork to rule out any other factors causing her growth to delay. Everything right now is normal as she gets older we may need to consider growth hormones but we aren’t there yet. But it very well could just be a delay easy to find out with a X-ray.

I have girls but was told you take the height they are at 2 and double it. Is that what they say for boys too?

DH is 6'3
Other DS is on track to be 6'2
Mom's Brother 1 6', Brother 2 6', Grandmother 5'4 Grandfather was 5'8
Dad's brother is 6'2, Grandmother was 5'10, Grandfather was 5'10
I'm just curious if anyone has a story like this where DS was on track to be a solid 5" under the shortest person in the family, and a good foot under most of the male relatives. Do we need to look into further testing?
OP, this is almost exactly my family profile. I had to double check whether I wrote it. My husband's dad is taller but his mom is smaller so it averages out. I, too, have one tall son and one tiny son. Small one has always been small which isn't the profile for a kid with health issues so doctors have dismissed all concerns. I am so surprised by how small he is... most of the time I don't worry. Just once in a while I get this feeling like, what if there is something wrong and we have missed it?
