She made a commitment to that dog when she adopted/bought it, and is living up to that commitment. Animals aren’t disposable when they become inconvenient. She wanted to find a solution by working with a trainer, but you refused. As some PPs have said, she dodged a bullet.

If your dog bit her, you should make sure she gets that wound checked out by a doctor a.s.a.p., even though she is now an ex-girlfriend. If it punctured the skin, she’s at risk for an infection, and she should be put on antibiotics. Don’t wait, it could turn into something very serious.

Offer to pay for any out of pocket medical expenses. It’s your dog, your responsibility.
