V Tech is the spawn of Satan. I wish much pain, suffering, and frothing disease upon anyone associated with that wretch company--and my MIL, who seems to have a life goal of buying every single one of their vile products.

NP here and I couldn’t agree more!! Why, or why, are grandparents so obsessed with buying them?!

I am currently in v-tech hell.

Anything my mother picked up at a discount store that "looks just like the [name brand] version." But probably doesn't meet any safety codes, will break immediately, and annoy my kid when I take it away.

For all of you loud toy haters, put some tape over the speaker.

Team Cat Piano here. I buy it for all my friends, partly because I love the “meow” setting, but also because I read a review by a music professor who said that the keyboard tones on that one were some of the best-tuned notes even compared to
much pricier digital keyboards. We’ve had it for 4 years and it’s never not been dragged out during a play date, except for when I hid it once because...”meow” setting.

I second the hate for those reusable Melissa & Doug stickers that never actually stick.

I really dislike Green Toys, which makes me feel bad because they’re a great idea. I think they’re clunky, bulky, and don’t actually do much. They get picked up by my kids if they’re dumped in the sandbox with communal toys at the playground but no one has ever played with them in our house.

That is me. For a few families, especially one of my husband's friends, every year I would find the loudest most obnoxious toys to send to the kids. My favorite was a plastic horse. Took dad days to figure out how to stop the sounds. He vowed to get me back but never has.

Those reusable stickers from Melissa and Doug. They are not sticky enough! Also, the boxed things from M and D with no top! I love the idea of a wooden box, but it is useless if there is no top to contain the items once the plastic comes off!

I blame amazon and China for the proliferation of cheap crap that doesn’t really work. You can get all this for so cheap it’s not really worth complaining when it doesn’t work...I sometimes am tempted and buy this crap then I always regret it. It’s almost always most cost effective to buy the name brand thing even if it costs 3x as much.

I hate LEGO generally and so do my kids. NOT ALL KIDS LIKE THEM!

random off brand toys meant to be played outdoors (weird pseudo- whiffleball type sets) that never work and are literally batted around once before they sit in the garage indefinitely.

I have 3 kids and they all loved that kitty keyboard.
