I am so glad I didn’t grow up in your family! I am glad you think it’s all good. Plenty of the non-favored kids would disagree.
I totally agree and I was the favorite of my grandparents. My mother would point out that it was wrong and I do it to this day and do not use my kids to laud over as favored over the other cousins. It is mean and hurtful and you will not use my kids as a weapon.

My philosophy is it's okay to have favorites but you can't let the favorite or unfavorite know that.
I'm pretty sure I was my grandmother's favorite but she did a good job of making sure that we all got equal gifts and love from her.
