Oh and forgot to say that this spacing is great and obviously we planned it and it worked out how we wanted. But all 3 will never be in elementary at the same time which my oldest is sad about (youngest has a fall birthday so has to wait a year). Since they are ages 9, 6 and 4 now I wish they were closer in age to share activities but it’s not something I think about often. They get along really well.

I am leaning towards this as well. First 2 are 19 months apart, and we are waiting for the 3rd one. Hoping for 4 years apart. Just helps us be better parents to be honest.

Same. We are trying for number 3. Our second child is about to turn 3. So the next baby will be nearly 4 years behind.

So that's what i did

Worked for my mom, worked for me.

We have a 5.5 year old, 2.5 year old, and an 8 month old.

Spacing is exactly three years between 1 and 2 and 21 months between 2 and 3. Highly recommend the 3 year gap — it was so much easier than the 21 month gap. We thought it would be easier to just get the baby stage over, but I wish we had waited!

Spacing is good for the kids I think, but I feel exhausted at times bc they're all at different phases. it's hard to get rid of things too. They do okay together we'll, with the usual sibling fights.

It would have been easier to wait another year before the third, and better to do it a year earlier, but I have no time left and we have no support. So it is what it is.

DS 1 - DS 2: exactly 3 years
DS 2 - DS 3: 3.5 years
DS 3 and DD will be almost 2.5 years apart

The 3 year spacing seemed comparatively easier to many in our circle who did the 18 mo - 2 yr gap, because there is a lot of independence that develops between age 2 and 3. And we never had 2 in diapers! Little nervous about how this slightly closer spacing will be.

1-2: 26 months
2-3: 3.2 years

First two are girls and inseparable (6 and 4). Third is a boy and still a baby (9months).
Both transitions were hard and baby 2 and 3 are bad sleepers. I love that my first 2 girls are ALWAYS playing together. They never watch tv, never bored, always entertained. Boy tries to follow them, but is too young to play with them. Girls are older, but other than watching little brother for a second if I run to the bathroom, they are not really into the baby
