DeNiro is 76 and he looks like he's at least in his 60's in the role. Are we supposed to believe that he is younger?

DeNiro playing a late 20s / early 30-something dad with newborns and a crappy truck driver job was sooooooooo painful. At no point in the movie did I ever think any of the 3 were younger than 60 years old. They should have used young actors for the young roles. At the very least some body doubles and stunt guys here and there. Big yikes.

That's right. Every time Joe Pesci called him "kid" I literally laughed.

Finally watched it. And I couldn't agree with these comments more! Pesci looked believable as a "younger" man because he was older than the other characters, but Jimmy Hoffa was 62 when he died/disappeared--Pacino looked way too OLD (the scene where he meets with Tony Pro and he's wearing his cabana wear--looked like old Elton John meeting Taron Edgerton from RocketMan).
And Deniro has this slight hunch that NO 30-something man has. When he stomped the grocer for shoving his daughter I was worried he'd break his hip.
Good movie, but I couldn't get over how old these guys looked.
And why is Action Bronson even in this? I don't care if it's 2 minutes...thats 2 minutes too long.

I have loved all the films they made together in the past but yes, trying to play a younger man when literally DeNiro cannot turn his head because his neck is so stiff and his hips are so arthritic - is indeed, ridiculous to watch. Also the blue contacts and his otherwise entirely ITALIAN face! Jesus wept.

What is Italian face? DeNiro is only 25 percent Italian in real life.

Noting new or terribly interesting and is a lot like all the other Martin Scorsese films. I thought it was bad casting, especially Pacino. Then the ending with the "higher ups" and "it is what it is" - 3.5 hrs for that...

Pacino just shouted his way through it, like every other Pacino performance in the history of film. Turn it off grandad, we don't want to hear you any more.

Wait, did she actually speak?

It was awful. The main actors are just too old. You can see them stumble as they act out the violence. Some times it’s seemed the pauses in dialogue was them forgetting their lines.

This is obviously THE point of the movie. And its length.

Wouldn't say it's garbage, but given that it's 3.5 hours long and it's basically every other Scorsese film, there's other more worthy things to watch.

Agree.

DeNiro as an Irishman is preposterous.

You know he's part irish is real life?

Well seeing an almost 80 yo man trying to play a much younger character is absurd!

If his last name is the only reason you think that it's preposterous, then the Asian community would like to have a word with you.
