DeNiro is 76 and he looks like he's at least in his 60's in the role. Are we supposed to believe that he is younger?
DeNiro playing a late 20s / early 30-something dad with newborns and a crappy truck driver job was sooooooooo painful. At no point in the movie did I ever think any of the 3 were younger than 60 years old. They should have used young actors for the young roles. At the very least some body doubles and stunt guys here and there. Big yikes.
That's right. Every time Joe Pesci called him "kid" I literally laughed.

I have loved all the films they made together in the past but yes, trying to play a younger man when literally DeNiro cannot turn his head because his neck is so stiff and his hips are so arthritic - is indeed, ridiculous to watch. Also the blue contacts and his otherwise entirely ITALIAN face! Jesus wept.
Anonymous wrote:It was just ok. I thought they were trying to get as many high profile names on screen as possible. Noting new or terribly interesting and is a lot like all the other Martin Scorsese films. I thought it was bad casting, especially Pacino. Then the ending with the "higher ups" and "it is what it is" - 3.5 hrs for that...

Watching DeNiro shuffling about trying to play the younger version of his character was too much. All the character are a rehash of every previous Martin Scorsese film ever made. Boring. Tired. Played out. Not a single original anything. Garbage.
Wouldn't say it's garbage, but given that it's 3.5 hours long and it's basically every other Scorsese film, there's other more worthy things to watch.
Agree.
DeNiro as an Irishman is preposterous.
You know he's part irish is real life?
