Venue all the way

We've generally done house parties because we have a big backyard and a summer birthday girl. I generally spend around $200 to $300 and that's largely because I love to cook so we usually serve good food and drinks. I've never been a real Pinterest mom so our decorations are just balloons and lanterns, nothing too complicated.

This year for logistical reasons I'm leaning towards doing an out of the house birthday and I'm definitely having sticker shock that it will be at least 300+ just to reserve a bouncy house place and that doesn't even cover food!

Most venue parties are further away. I hate having to schedule an extra hour or more into our Saturday for the drive there and back. It's even worse when kids are old enough for drop off, because then I'm stuck killing time.
