I needed breaks too. Which took - wait for it - when my children were sleeping! Or when they were older they went to morning preschool a couple days a week. No one forced OP to have THREE kids. You can claim ignorance on the first one, and to a lesser degree the second one, but by the third one, you knew what you were getting into.

You should do it! I take a week long vacation (girls trip) every year, and DH takes care of the kids (4). We make it work. [google]

I have a kid with very challenging SN, plus other kids. An online friend of mine with a kid with a similar diagnosis just told me that her husband is gone on a 3 week vacation. I was torn between being horrified that he left her, and wondering if I could do the same thing.

My kid will be gone all next week (dads year to get thanksgiving) and I cannot wait till I get my house to myself.

I have to do a 24 hour urine collection. My mom who has been a nurse since the mid 70s was telling me how people used to get a night in the hospital for that! We were just talking about what a luxury that would be.

So yeah, OP we all need breaks. No shame in that at all. Take the PPs suggestion and get a hotel. Be sure to come back here and tell us how fabulous it is

I am sahm with toddler and about to get a newborn in a month, and a sick husband who has been going through surgery and harsh treatments since May. Oh how I long for a break!!!!

I've been a SAHM for 12. I love my breaks! Yay for vacations from kids.

At least once a year I book a hotel room by myself. It's the best.

The people who are booking hotel rooms for themselves alone should REALLY tell their husbands. When he finds the charges it is not going to be fun convincing him you lied about where you were going so you could be in a hotel room alone.
