Anonymous wrote:Also don’t be offended if they ask you the reason for the D&C. They may just be trying to determine if it was due to a fetal abnormality or missed miscarriage. In medical terms, all terminations of pregnancy are referred to as an abortion, including a miscarriage. (eg, I had a D&c after an “incomplete spontaneous abortion”).

If I am wrong, OP I am so sorry this happened to you.
+1
If a doctor in the DC area had to recuse themselves of any patient that had had an abortion they would have very few patients left. On top of that, if they have religious issues there are practices that are very pro-life and upfront about that that they can join.
OP if this happened to you I'm very sorry but it's not the norm.

Anonymous wrote:Op here. To be fair, I really really like my doctor and I am sad about it honestly. So no, I will not say the name of the doctor. The exact words were "unfortunately I don't feel comfortable seeing you as a patient anymore but would be happy to refer you to someone else in the practice". I can't go to that office even to see a different doctor anymore though, because I'd see my pervious doctor and I don't want to continuously feel like I'm being judged.
But I am happy to know this isn't the norm.

Any doctor who is good will not judge you or pry into anything you would not like to discuss.
Up to you whether you want to bring your records they are yours so your choice.

The doctor will not longer see her as a patient. How would OP be perceiving something that isn’t there?
But maybe the termination has nothing to do with that. It could be for other reasons. Unless the doctor told her that he won’t see her again because she had an abortion, I find it very hard to believe that this is the reason he won’t see her anymore.
