I love Uber wars because I never have to see tongue people again, so I never tip. If I have to see people again, it’s 20% or flat $5 for pick up. Sometimes I’m cheap and do $3 pick up. Whatever.

Just give him a bite or order extra.

I tip zero. No one tips me to do my job and I probably make as much as them.

They might be spitting in your food with a $2 tip!

It is. There’s one poster here that won’t acknowledge that fact and keeps going on and on about how we need to tip those “beneath us” aka Ubereats drivers (her words, not mine).

Our Uber eats driver dropped the pizzas off on the wrong street today. I stood outside for like 5 minutes while she was 1 minute away. Didn’t even bother to call and left it with some random house.

Door Dash encourages people to tip 20%. I think tipping on the total cost of food isn't a good model for food delivery. I recently ordered 3 pizzas from a fancy hipster place and the suggested tip was about $17. If I go eat an expensive restaurant, the bill is higher and tip is higher with the rationale that customers are paying for the ambiance and a higher quality of service. If a driver delivers food, my experience of the delivery is the same whether I ordered Subway or Ruth's Chris. I would feel better about paying the higher tip if it was calculated around the effort the delivery person put into the order (distance, the challenge of pickup, higher rates for busy times), or if they just charged a high delivery fee that went to the drivers.

Uber Eats Driver: what do you think is a reasonable tip? Of course you want as much as possible, what at what point do you think "cheap bastard"?

For a typical residential delivery (not a office luncheon or party or condo or hotel), is a flat $5 okay or 10% (even if it's less than $5). Or are you expecting 15-20% like a server in a restaurant?

How much more do you expect for more time consuming deliveries like condo/apt or hotel or hospital?

Do you get paid more if there are weather issues like rain or snow? Do you expect more tip?

Thank you.

No problem. I'll add that if the weather is terrible (snowstorm, torrential rain, etc) I may tip a few dollars more for the trouble.

Why did a bunch of posts (including mine) get deleted? I was just talking about my experience in relation to the question.

Instacart is a completely different animal than Uber eats.
