Planner versus non-planner (investor, non-investor). I don’t just mean money. Husband is only concerned with getting through the day. Refuses to teach kids to do chores (because it is time consuming and he just wants to get it done), is not interested in taking a step towards any long term goals, retirement, college savings ect. No tax planning, would rather hand over and Ipad to a kid versus being creative to manage their boredom.

For me, I think there is this nagging feeling that he will not put up with me for long if I were to get sick or infirm.

I say this because at times I've been sick, it's like, on day 2, "oh, you're STILL sick?" after I have to remind him.

This summer we were away on vacation for a week, and he had to leave the latter part of the week for his childhood friend's second wedding (we are in our 50s). One of our kids had been sick and had explosive vomiting and diarrhea. She got better just as the second kid caught it. I was up day and night with kids and mopping up messes. Then, the day before he was due to leave, I said, "Larlo, I'm worried; I think I might be getting sick," and he blurted, "oh that sucks for me!"

I was like, "for YOU? You're getting on a plane tomorrow and I'm stuck with the kids!"

And I just thought, "wow, it's all about him, all the time."

He's got some really great other qualities, and loves me and I love him, but this thing niggles at me. I don't think it's something you can change.

Lack of sex. She would point to reasons for that I am sure but we have no connection through sex. She knows it is a need of mine and utterly disregarded. And yes, I do chores and child care snd all that

I learned that you can't fix it and it doesn't go away.

My husband gloats over his bipolar disorder but refuses any help. He likes/ loves the highs, and has no idea what hell he out us through. Actually he does, but it matters more to him than we do. We haven't had any regular sex in 6 yrs, and no sex at all in two. He wont get help for that either.
