Love that is always the go to answer. Did it ever occur to you that some of us choose to decline the offers from TSJFCV given the abusive environment, mediocre coaching and huge difference between the actual vs the social media PR infused culture at the club?!????? Get a clue. No longer the only fish in the sea.

I love it. Blind faith against all observable logic.

I would agree that logic says TSJ won't want to pay for evergreen, but they've bought so many teams and only have one field, so all teams moving there isn't logical either. I would guess they'll build or buy outdoor space. For the girls currently on successful DA teams about to begin or already involved in recruiting, many won't leave FCV because of location, several kids already drive over an hour. The effect will be seen more for younger kids.

there is more than one field at TSJ and Evergreen - what are you talking about?

Have a niece (U13) who plays for an Eastern Fairfax club. She's looking to make a switch. Family inquired about FCV since they got bought by the St. James and hoping they'd form travel teams there. FCV told her no, staying Loudoun based. So, they went looking for another club.

"Travel teams" will stay in Loudoun for as long as they can but DA is certainly going to move. "FCV United", which is their NPL travel program, is different than TSJFCV.

This is completely wrong!

FCV will stay in Loudoun, all teams.

Why move to Springfield? what players do they plan on recruiting anywhere near?

Are you saying that the Loudoun area is the only with quality players? Plenty of talent in the Springfield/Fairfax/Alexandria area that wouldn't be much of a commute from the TSJ facility. I hope they do bring it. The area needs a place to centralize their best talent instead of spreading it around through various clubs.

So top players would leave existing top teams to go train at a gym and play for a guy who could not make his high school team? Makes sense.

yes! More importantly than the StJames is parental evaluation of the coaching staff. Go watch practices go watch games. Talk to the parents. Why else would they make you pay for all 12 months up front. Your kid can leave now but you have already paid for the year. You are trapped in hell.

I remember seeing press releases for them buying Stars Lacrosse Club, they operate the winter (former triple edge) lacrosse league, and merged with (or bought) Durant basketball. They also rent the field for other practices and operate their own recreation level teams in several sports.

What other teams has TSJ bought?

Pretty sure they mean that when you buy the girls DA you get multiple teams and not just one.

The quote below is St. James marketing directly from their website soccer section. The amazing facility is the focus of the program. Why would DA stay at Evergreen?

"Our main goal in preseason was to get our players physically and mentally prepared for a rigorous MLS season. It's a lot of toll on the body and having access to a facility like the St. James makes my job as head of sports science and fitness, an easy one. In sports, people tend to look at what happens on the pitch but there are so many other factors that go into preparing a player for performing at their peak ability.

The indoor field was a great way to shield the players from the unpredictable weather elements in D.C. and it made sure they had a controlled environment to build up their fitness. But, the facilities outside of the field were tremendous. The ability to use the pool and gym gave us an extra element of control in terms of building up their fitness and helping them recover.?I also look at what the players are consuming on a daily basis and how they can feed their body with the right food and supplements. The restaurant at the St. James catered wholesome and healthy food for our players so they could appropriately fuel and help their body recover after training sessions."

Facts are facts. FCV United is non profit and will continue to serve as their own in house feeder club. As a non-profit they don't really affect TSJ's bottom line and obviously serve as a DA feeder. FCV will keep shop in Loudoun as well as likely have a footprint in Springfield.

TSJ owns the DA and has a facility that they can charge parents of DA players for their own field space. FCV United will also allow TSJ to qualify for more local Springfield outdoor public fields and have the DA train almost exclusively in TSJ.

FCV's three year lease at Evergreen either ends this year 2019-2020 or next year 2020-2021. FCV's DA will no longer be Loudoun based after 2021 and likely sooner than that.

It would appear that TSJFCV parents would rather believe what Christian and Bobby are saying than apply their own logic. Good luck with that.
