No guilt. I did research a lot about breeders though and paid a premium for a family raised puppy from a small experienced breeder. (Versus an Amish “breeder” at half price.) Also, my breeder does not rehome her breeding dogs when she retires them. I was shocked to find out even reputable breeders do this.

I needed non shedding, for allergies and sanity. And not some sort of doodle/schnoodle/sproodle. An actual purebred non shedding dog.

Good luck finding a purebred Corgi.

I’ve had three rescue dogs and honestly they all had issues. My cavaliers are perfect.

I have always found it odd that they are doing all that after getting the dogs themselves from auctions and backyard breeders. Like they want people to feel they're specially chosen or something after rewarding the most unethical of breeding.

They are on a special little power trip and many are crazy. The people not the dogs.

I would 100% support a law requiring those owners to be responsible for their dogs and I would 100% also donate money to fix those dogs for free. In England, where the stray cat message was sold completely, they are essentially running a breeding program to u domesticate the cat (because strays with the qualities we want in a house at don’t survive as well as the skittish and good fighters).

I do. We were bored on a rainy day and went with our neighbors to see their lab puppy, and ended up getting her sister. The situation just seemed so ideal (having them to play together every day, and having a built in pet sitter for vacations) and we went for it. But I feel guilty for sure. We were planning to go to a lab rescue after we had a few months to mourn our last dog. This is the first pet I’ve ever bought.

I’ve had two Golden’s from breeders and they are literally perfect dogs—never even the slightest issue. The majority of rescues I know are sweet but have behavior quirks.

On a larger point, I don’t know why I should be required to make up for bad mistakes made by people in other states that are too lazy to spay/fix their dogs and/or care for the pups their dogs create. So you are saying adopting a dog and a child is the same? Not every family is equipped emotionally, physically or mentally able to handle foster kids. Dogs live with you at most 16 years but, kids become family members for life. I think it is offensive to claim they are the same.

I personally don't care that you get a dog from a breeder but, don't say it is the same. A child is not a dog.
