Because if he’s only supposed to take 1 extended release pill at a time and he also gets 60 instant release pills per month, then the doctor is also part of the problem, which is problematic because you go to the same doctor.
He has a prescription for 30 a 20mg instant release and 30-20mg extended release. Total of 60 pills per month. He went through 56 in 10 days.
I got my Doc to up the prescription to three, 20mg ER Adderral a day. I took it for about 4 years and then just realized that all it dis was make me an amphetamine addict. I decided that I'd rather struggle with who I am, an adult with ADHD, than be an addict so I quit. It's a rough couple of weeks to quit, much like quitting coffee, but not that big of a deal.
60 pills a month of 20mg is not that big of a deal. He could probably get 90 just by asking, or even 120 instead of trying to buy them from someone else. But that said, it's a no-win situation. You can't cure ADHD with Adderal. It's not like an antibiotic that you take for 10 days and then you are cured. The pills are good for the day you take them. Then the next day... If he takes them for years, there are going to be health consequences. One of them being, high blood pressure. I feel for you. The man needs help.
