It night be easier for the parents who are rushing to get to work than to fight with the child over changing clothes. We dealt with that on and off at that age and sometimes I just feel like saying fine you can wear that to school. We did always change her.

Why do you care? This affects you not at all.

My kid wore pajamas to school about half the time - for two years. Sometimes he took off pajamas and put on new ones. He didn’t wear underwear either - ever. He started k this year, wears underwear and a uniform, and I have no regrets about his pajama years.

My son went through a phase at 2.5 when he wore PJs to school for several weeks. He would scream bloody murder for 45 min if we took them off and we’d have to take him to school sobbing and exhausted- so we just let him wear PJs. My other kid wore rain boots as his regular shoes for months. My son’s friend wore the same orange shirt for weeks once. Kids are weird. It’s a phase he will grow out of it.

There are articles on this all the time, and it seems like it’s evenly split. In general older people don’t wear undies with pajamas and were told it is healthier not to (Dear Abby once ran a column saying it was weird for a married woman to wear underwear with a nightgown). It seems really gross to me to start the day in dirty underwear, but maybe you change them twice every 24 hrs.

Why? We all put pjs on after showing/bathing, etc. We have central air conditioning too so we aren't sweating at night.

My kid wore his pajama shirt to preschool this morning. I was tired, knew he would be wearing his sweater over it, and it was sort of cute how he kept saying ‘but I’m already wearing my shirt mommy, see?’ When I tried to change it.

I also wonder about the parents who drop their kids off but it's the parents wearing pjs and they are still wearing them at pickup 7 hours later. Discuss.
