Why? The first poster is correct. The average IQ is just 100.

Personally I can cope with stupid people a lot easier than I can the thousands of selfish, aggressive A-holes in this area that think the rule of law (and even common decency) doesn't apply to them. You know, the people that don't let others off the metro before pushing their way on, the ones who drive aggressively in complete disregard for the safety of others, the ones who never hold a door for others, always have to be the first on and off the elevator... you get the idea

Many are dumber than rocks when it comes to real life. I was married to one, no common sense whatsoever.

I wouldn't classify everyone else as "stupid" because they qualify for MENSA.

My dad always thought alcoholics were generally smart people and were alcoholics because they could see all the ways things could go wrong (he was very smart but he wasn't an alcoholic, he did not consider it an equivalency).

I get what your dad means. I believe people with anxiety have it for the same reason.
