Subject: Did Google Maps remove traffic cameras?
Thread OP here:
I updated my Google Maps this week and now the camera icons have returned when in turn-by-turn directions mode. I guess enough people complained!

If you live in DC then you'd know there are tons of cameras set up as literal cash grabs so it's not everyone intentionally speeding through slow zones.
No, there are not. They are there for safety and have improved safety.

Safety, my keister. There was just a news report that they overcharged thousands of people and refuse to give back the money in DC.
Red light cameras increase rear end collisions. Speed cameras are concentrated on commuter routes. Both are government gangster rackets operated for a profit by big corporations.
A. It was in Alexandria, which does not have speed cameras. The radars in police vehicles were not properly calibrated.
B. The people who got tickets incorrectly ARE being reimbursed.

Only against people who endanger my life by speeding (and opposing things that would prevent speeding). If that's an anger issue, I am fine with it.
Telling someone to “die in a fiery crash” is pretty extreme. You are far worse than someone who speeds.
Someone who speeds may cause a death. My words, by making you THINK, may prevent one.
