Because it is enjoyable, social and good for overall fitness. Maybe my son will play in high school, likely he won’t, but he’s never mentioned it either way. He likes hanging out with teammates.
Ditto. And I’m actually sitting at one of those practices right now, which ends at 9:00 pm. There are around 100 kids practicing on the fields here. Doesn’t seem like madness to me, looks like they’re having fun playing a sport they love. DS finished his homework (no prompting either) and had dinner already so he’s good.
Tritto. It is ok not to enjoy organized sports but many kids do, and there are a lot of benefits!

So if someone said that 3 nights a week they weren’t feeding their kids would you be cool with that? Kids need sleep
As much as they need food. Having a chronically overtired kid is a recipe for disaster. You are supposed to be a steward of this person. Take proper care of them.

Anonymous wrote:It would be too much for us. For middle school my older child gets up at 5:45am, sometimes 5:30. Sports make me and my kids more alert and awake so getting to bed would be hard. If it were just on a Friday and/or Saturday night, that would be fine.
