When Kate started talking about Jack "watching" Steelers game from a young age, I just broke. She was trying so hard up to that point to not give into the reality.

Same here. I really like what they're doing with Kate right now. Her negativity has sometimes been too much for me, but she has the potential to be one of the most interesting characters. I love it when she's strong.

While not all the episodes have the same stellar writing and emotional heft, so far this season is working for me. As always, the acting is great.

Agreed. I'm not always 100% on this show, but it does remind me to step back and see the big picture when it comes to family--they remember not so much what we say but how we made them feel.

PP here answering my own question. The Alexi Murdoch song was in the the first season episode titled "The Pool," so that was a nice carry over.

The end, as usual, got to me, showing the Pearsons at the pool at three different ages. Wow, are those toddler Big Three cute! I didn't catch who the two people were lying in the lounge chairs at the pool in the very last scene. Anyone know?

OT -I loved him in YM&O. Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball as the parents.

I did not like last night’s episode at all. I also didn’t love last season but have stuck with it. I’m not sure why.

I loved seeing Tim Matheson (Rebecca's father) who I have liked since he was in the movie Yours, Mine & Ours in 1968, and many other shows and movies since. Animal House, for instance.

The boy and the military stories weren't extreme future stories. They were in the present. Only Kate's son's story was in the future.

I was confused because I thought the woman blind Jack is with was a younger version of the woman in Afghanistan (I assume)--same facial structure, but none of the timelines were working. I guess when she said the diner was one of those places that never changes she was not kidding at all, if that's taking place in around 2045??

It reminded me of the original pilot when all these people seem to have nothing to do with each other until the end.

Also, I thought the Pearson thing on the car was a dealership plate which really was spinning off in an inexplicable direction.

I saw the bumper sticker, but I was still very confused at that point. Overall, I loved the episode. I'm glad it's back!
