+1 It would be fiscally irresponsible to buy without considering the financial consequences.
I mean, the economy is only going down (though we don't know how far) so buying an expensive home waaaay out there is a bad bet anyway. They'll lose value over the next 5 years. I'd wait until things look bad to buy during a dip.
