Apparently bananas.

The bananas at Costco are absolutely bizarre. Sometimes they never turn yellow and just skip straight to going bad.

If you are a baker, vanilla. My daughter is a baker and I think I save the cost of membership on the vanilla alone.

Also - the little fresh mozzarella balls. A package of 6 costs $5 at Whole Foods or it is $8.50 for a 24 pack at costco.

That said, I do not go that often because I buy things I do not need or in too large of quantities.

We do our weekly grocery shopping at Costco. Backfill as needed at grocery store for specific items/sale items, but otherwise done and done.

I don't go because it's not convenient to us. If it was closer I"d go more. Also, the gaithersburg location sucks.

Costco is our primary grocery store and we go about every two weeks--sometimes 3x a month (and fill up our gas tanks too at that point--we alternate which car we take) and then supplement produce between at wherever we happen to be near. Their quality is consistently high, they have great turnover so things are fresh, and there's a diversity of products. We buy nearly everything we need there (except bananas and produce we don't eat as much of).

Also, be on the lookout for items that end in "$x.97" as those are usually clearance items. I got a bag of kettle corn for $1.97 the other week and I'm going to ration it off in ziplock snack bags. You'd pay at least $2.00 a bag going to the local cafe at work!

Clothes have been the real pleasant surprise for me.

There's a Kirkland equivalent to SmartWool socks that are great, and there's lots of weekend/casual clothes too.

We get the manchego too! There is a baked brie in pastry that is also a good appetizer. Also, the pistachios are good and cheaper than elsewhere.

The vanilla cake with custard filling.

Or that long chocolate cake thingy (opera cake? something like that).

If your Costco has these

Which ones have yard stuff?

I haven't been in two years, but the last time I went to Leesburg it was for the garden center stuff (mulch, plants, and soil).
