To me, it's really disturbing and I wanted my parents to be just parents to me. There are a lot of things that don't have to he shared. For example, I don't have to see my H having a bowl bowel movement, although I know he does. It wouldn't improve our relationship.
We have a big house and I made sure that our bedroom is far away from the kids' bedrooms because I'm loud. We usually have sex every other day at lunch time because we both WFH. I always lock the doors and, most importantly, close the windows.
Sex is part of life and an enjoyable part. It's time to change the Puritan attitude and embrace what you enjoy. You need to see someone about this issue. Did you really compare sexnto a bowel movement?
It’s an appropriate analogy. They’re both things everyone does and completely natural. They’re also things nobody else wants to see you do.
Lock your door! Also make an appointment to see a therapist if you want your children (and other people) to see you have sex. You have bizarre issues. Sex is a private activity.

I’m sure they did their best to keep the noise down. I don’t think it had an effect on me except except when we bought our house I made sure the MBR was not next to another bedroom. Even with that we try to keep the noise down which is why it’s nice to go to a hotel once in awhile where I don’t care who is in the room next door.
A few years ago my husband and I were in a hotel and the couple in the room next to us were clearly enjoying themselves including some banging of the head board. We didn’t bother banging on the wall as it was pretty entertaining. We followed suit but kept it down! As we were leaving our room the next morning the other couple came out of their room and they were definitely in their 60’s. I had to do my best to keep my husband from congratulating the guy.
LOL - we are a couple in our 60’s and I love hotel sex and the nicer the hotel the better! We’ve been empty nesters for at least ten years but for some reason the anticipation of hotel sex is a big turn on for me and we really get into it.
