If your kid won’t eat the meal you prepared, they can skip it and any future meals they won’t eat due to pickiness. They won’t starve. Eventually they will get hungry enough to eat.

I will gladly send this to my MIL, who insists that any regular sized single serving lunch is "enough for an army", and proceeds to take home 2/3 of it - in order to have 4 more meals. She weighs about 90 pounds, and is about 4'9". Is it ANY wonder?

Giving the teacher a gift at holiday time, Teacher Appreciation Week, or the end of the year is neither necessary nor will it get your child any special favors.

If you do give something: Some teachers like gift cards. Others like mugs and other stuff. Nearly everyone likes a heartfelt note, especially if your child writes it him or herself.

Don’t stress over it to any extent. No teacher is doing this job for the Starbucks gift card or Best Teacher Ever mug. And really bad teachers aren’t going to change just because you gave the rest of the team a gift, but excluded them.
