Why on earth do you need help hanging up your purse?

That must be a very heavy purse.

This is the best part of every day. Their love is unconditional.

I just honestly don't know what this means. Do you wait by the door, or is he always home at the same time? Does help him get settled in mean you take his coat?

I have a great husband and I'm glad to see him, but I don't understand what you think you're doing differently than people who say hi and kiss when someone gets home. It seems both vague and very important to you.

What does greet mean here? If he gets home after me I am usually in the vicinity of the front door and always say hi. Once he's in and settled we kiss, that could be right then or he might run upstairs to change and then come back to engage with the baby/dinner/whatever is going on. But I'm not like, standing at the ready with slippers and a martini.

All this is true in reverse when he's home first.

No. He greets me, if I am cooking or upstairs, he comes to say hi, and often gives me a kiss. Married for 25 years.

Both spouses should greet each other in the morning, upon leaving and upon returning.
But can the June Cleaver bullshit.

This is normal in Asian countries. I greet my wife when she arrives home as well.

Married 8 years together 11 with 2 kids and I am always home before DH. Usually I am dealing with the kids when he is walking in so he finds us either upstairs or downstairs and gives everybody plus the dog a kids and hug. Then he goes and changes and we have dinner together before we put the kids to bed. Sometimes if he is having a particularly rough day he will ask for a glass of wine and I will have it waiting for himWhen he walks in the door. He always calls when he is headed home from work so I know when to expect him.
