It is pre season. All scores are irrelevant.

Then don't you think it would be best to save money and just play scrimmages? I'm thinking, if you enter a tournament, there is an expectation that you can win it.

Our club U13s can kick the U14 butts any day of the week so you never know. My other DC is on a team with almost all new players, many whom wanted to move from top teams at bigger clubs to smaller for a variety of reasons but not because they don’t have skills. The coach is an international footballer and also new. They’re using the tourney to test the waters. Point is, don’t make any assumptions going in.

Pay less attention to the outcome and more on the development of the players at this point. If their technical skills are apparent and they’re moving the ball well, that what’s important. Physicality may win the day at younger ages when there’s more disparity but the long game is about technical development.

It’s a new season, rosters change a lot, and what was once what you think was a good team may no longer be. Alternatively, there will be teams that are better than ever due to turnover of players and coaches. If your boys win the whole thing, good for them. It will give them a good morale boost starting out the season. If they have to play one of their club’s other teams once, you should get used to it. This happens a lot with the lower level teams in tournaments.

I looked at the u12 girls bracket. BSC blue u12 is playing u11 teams. Wonder how that will turn out.

It looks like they didn’t have enough U11 and U12 teams, so they combine the two age groups. I’m sure there will lots of disappointed U11 teams.

Man there is a big difference between girls at those ages.

Yup.
As a Bethesda team, I'm really pissed that we're paying money for this. Either just have a BSC scrimmage weekend, or send different teams to different tournaments, but this is ridiculous.

I think OBGC is the big dog of the early tournaments.

There are more ECNL clubs in the area than ever before. They are not limited by any rules that would keep them from playing in any particular tournament that they wish.
