Why are posters being so mean to the OP? I don't think she seems anxious about this. I think she's just asking about the lip tie and how that plays into this. Lip and tongue ties are way easier to remedy at a young age, when they can be snipped quickly in an office (both of my babies had it done with a tongue tie). When you get older, you might need surgery.

It's probably nothing, and other PPs are right that the teeth will change as they grow in and the kid gets bigger. My 3 year old had HUGE teeth when they came in as a baby, but now they look very proportional and are also straighter than when they came in. My 8 year old has very different adult teeth than baby teeth, and they have shifted also as new ones have been coming in.

But it wouldn't hurt to see another dentist or doctor if you have concerns about the lip tie playing a part in this.

No the dentist did. He/she stated that the kid has a lip tie but that it isnt bad enough to laser/snip.

Note that lip ties can cause pockets where milk and food can "pool" increasing the rates of tooth decay.

Our son had a sizable gap because of his lip tie at that age. No doctor or anyone else ever mentioned doing anything about it, but OP, I have to confess that I wondered whether we ought to look into it. Then one day before age two he slipped and fell and cut his lip tie. The teeth grew together almost immediately and now, at age 12, he has perfect teeth.

Not to say you should push your kid down to try to break his lip tie! Just that I get what you're saying, I think, and I've been there (sort of). I do think a gap between the front teeth is very, very cute.

OP both my mother and I have a front teeth gap. My DS had one until High achool. Now it is gone, naturally, from all the teeth growing in.

Just let your poor kid be.

Think about it. Why would you put braces on baby teeth that are going to fall out? That makes no sense. Wait until the kid has permanent teeth and go from there.
