I’ve been with my family for 10+ years. I do grocery shopping and surprise home repair workers. I do not do any type of cleaning- I am a nanny, not a housekeeper. My bosses continue to pay me while the kids are in school full days for the convenience of having me on call for sick days, off school days, when someone forgets their lunch etc. My job is unique though as my bosses are both high level VOs and need childcare.
Translation - I sit around on my phone most of the day and expect to be paid for it.
When I’m not “surprising” workers. Boo!![]()

I’m sorry you’re jealous of my position. Over a decade of loyalty and reliability has afforded me a cushy job now that the kids are in school. Yes my job is super easy now and I’ve earned it after working 60+ hour weeks for many years.

Additional tasks that are position appropriate:
1. Volunteering at child/children's school (field trips, lunch/recess supervision)
2. Light Organizing of toys/manipulatives in child's room
3. Lesson planning for after school (reading plan, following up on tutoring if scheduled)
4. Laundry (wash fold sort) for child/children only
5. Snack or Light dinner prep
#1 and #3 are not position appropriate. Those things should be taken care of by a parent, not just a hired worker. OP should absolutely outsource housework and cooking so she can spend time on those things instead.

Clean windows, beat carpets, paint porch. Mow lawn, rake leaves. After all, she is your slave and you want your money's worth. Lady, you're going to be looking for a new nanny very soon!
We had the same nanny for a decade, sweetheart. Kids grow, situations change. Everyone adapts and gets the job done.
You’re ridiculous.
You had a housekeeper who babysat, PP. You never had a nanny.
Blah blah blah. Some nannies get attached to their families and would rather take on housekeeping duties than switch annually because they’re too pure to fold laundry.

Stop embarrassing yourself, PP. You haven’t got a clue what this poster does or doesn’t do and you just look petty trying to blindly insult her.
You can’t handle the truth.
We are all laughing at you, younpoor old lady.
You can’t even get an insult right!
Eh... yeah, I think she/he did get it right. Please stop now, PP.
