But I also think you can deal with 2 Finns a few times a year.

Quinn is now a girls' name. Why not name him William since that is the one name you agree on? You could use Liam as a nn or Will or even Billy. Thats a better name than Finn anyway.

Fianian
(it isn’t the same as Finn who is only Finn and who cares if same name? Just let other couple know first you’re still in love with the name)
Ciarnan
Ruairidh
Eoin

Don’t worry about mispronunciations.

I know Irish brothers...Seamus, Finn, and Brogan. What about Brogan? Also know an Eoin (“Owen”) and a Tiernan. Not sure if these names were mentioned yet

I know twins Finnian and Declan, so to me they are “similar”. Nolan was on my list but DH didn’t like it for some reason.

What about Lachlan?

Multiple kids with the same name is as Irish as Guinness, so I'd go with Finian since you love it.

But, other I like:

Owen or Eoghan
Ronan
Kevin
Eamonn
Conn (one of the children of Lir)
Sean
Seamus
Ryan (little King)
Cormac

I'm the Irish poster from above. Forgot to say that if you love Finn but feel like you can't use it because of Finn and Ian you could go for Fintan. Still gives you Finn as a nickname but doesn't incorporate the two cousins names.

I'm a fellow Irish person with a name that people find hard to pronounce! If you really love Cillian/Cian/Diarmuid you can go for them and just expect to correct pronunciations. Maeve and Saoirse have been so popular recently that I wouldn't be surprised if traditional boys names become popular too.

Other suggestions:
Rory (as an Anglicization of Ruairi)
Darragh/Daire (I have seen Darra before and that may be easier for people to pronounce)
Eamon
Fiachra
Lorcan
Niall
Ronan
Conan
Colm
Callum
Shay
Tiernan
Fergal

Declan and Cormac are my favorites thus far. (I'm actually partial to Diarmuid, but that's got to be in the hard to pronounce category for most Americans.)

The one place of convergence you have with DH is William. You just need to agree whether the nickname will be Will or Liam. This name definitely falls in the overused category these days, so get ready for years of Liam S if you go that route. Maybe it's a good middle name?

These are great! Thanks! We’ve considered Cillian (although there is yet another cousin with this name but at least he’s in Ireland) but I’ve worried about pronunciation (and my husband wouldn’t hear of spelling it with a K.) I’ve gone back and forth between Benjamin and Bennett—I do love both!

NP - we also were down to Benjamin and Bennett and ultimately went with Bennett. It was my top choice (Benjamin was DH's, but he had gotten first choice on DC #1). In part, I liked Bennett because we have a 3 syllable last name, and thought Benjamin as a first would sound too long and unwieldy.

Cormac or Colm (could be spelled Colum or Columb).
