Someone on the first page mentioned Eight is Enough. I loved that show but was thinking it was more of a '70s show. I went so far as to look it up, and it ended in 1981, so it fits here. I remember reading an obit about the guy whose book it was based on and was surprised to see he lived much of his adult life in the DC area, possibly Bethesda.

I loved that show! It was about a guy who got tomorrow's newspaper today. The guy spent his days trying to prevent the bad stuff in the newspaper from happening.

I kind of hate to say it, but - The Cosby Show. I really loved it. I also loved Murphy Brown, L.A. Law, Living Single and the nighttime soaps - Dallas, Dynasty, Knot's Landing, Flamingo Road.

I found ALF on Amazon Prime. I really want to find time to rewatch that silly show!

That was "Newhart." TBNS was in the 1970s and set in Chicago, with Suzanne Pleshette.
