Loudoun is just too far out for it to be a viable option for most people.

Public school parents are always looking for the exceptions rather than the norm. 20 or 30 out of dozens and dozens of public school rosters doesn't equal the 20 or 30 coming out of Bullis and Landon alone. You can talk about the reasons why but the numbers don't lie and public school apologists are always trying to make it out with the "you're saying I've got a chance" argument.

I'm not sure what your point is about collecting talent in PS and making a good team. It's kind of like saying if you collect all the best euro's playing basketball you could have a really competitive basketball team in the NBA. If you are a really good player, you seek to go to privates because they have the better coaching, are surrounded by other good players and the programs are consistent year-over-year.

The point about public school talent v private school talent is in response to the comment that PS talent is "raw" and needs to be refined by attending a private school. This may have been true in the past but is not as applicable today. I would not argue that public school programs can even compete in a game. However at the individual player level talent is talent no matter if they are public or private. Many kids play year round outside of the HS. These kids learn to play a higher level and are challenged to play with and v. the best players. The majority of these players end up attending a private school team. If you pooled together the few that stay in public school they would equal the top private school teams. The point is that I do not feel a player's skill will be hindered at a HS level if they are competing 8-10 other months of the year on a top club program and attending showcases and other events.

Comparing NBA and Euro is not logical to comparing private and public school lacrosse. There could be good reasons a player does not attend a private school that are not talent related. There are public school lacrosse players playing in the PLL. Your assumption is that one pool of players is better than another pool of players top to bottom. There are plenty of players in the WCAC and IAC that could not make a top club team and get minutes. There are public school kids getting D1 offers to top schools. The comparison does not work.
