We bought from a breeder in Ohio. Mennonites. Realized later the ‘plain communities’ are known for puppy mills. Best dog we ever had, best disposition and healthy. Aside from clear abuse of dogs, I’m not sure I completely understand what makes an ethical breeder versus a non ethnical one. We got basic records, met the mom, etc.

I’m an experienced dog foster with TWO orgs and we spoil our senior dog who has health issues. Excellent references Lab Rescue of Potomac rejected me. Going with another group.
