I wrote above that my first IVF had only one egg retrieved and then I did a successful estrogen priming IVF. They were done at two different clinic and it was always a 3 day fresh transfer. The reason is that the embryo have a better chance growing in the uterus than growing in media in a Petri dish.
I used to go to GW which felt the same way as you describe, they were big on day 3 or even day 2 transfers. I am now at CCRM where they firmly believe their lab is just as good as the uterus and they want to only put in normal embryos. this is their protocol so it feels like I don't have much choice in the matter, and honestly after a few failed tries I might as well try something new.
