Unusual for TJ to hit the SLACs so hard. As a SLAC grad, I love it. These are great science PhD feeders and pre-Ned schools.

14 to CMU— I know several going in CS. Super hard admission.

Self report by students. 425 grads. 421 headed directly to college. 340 reported to the TJ today survey.

UVA and VT are very, very low (WM is about what you would expect. My educated guess is that the majority of the non-reports are VT/UVA.

Not sure why non-reports would be specifically VT/UVA, but I agree they are likely low. The trend for several years has been that a higher percentage of TJ students are going to non-state schools.

This is an impressive list. I am, however, surprised by the low number for MIT. Is this common? This is not a negative comment because the other numbers listed are incredibly impressive. I really am just curious.

There were 12 MIT admits this year , which is roughly on the same level as other years. However, 5 rejected MIT opting for other schools, including all 4 girls admitted.

Np. I don't know why people always ascribe the worst motive to posters. It's possible OP's DD doesn't want to come across as trying to do the things you've ascribed to OP here by asking the same questions on social media. And OP's DD would be right if the kids are anything like the parents who've responded on this thread. OP's DD might also not want to seem needy by pursing this after being ghosted by these former friends.

For example, Duke: Naviance says average GPA 4.4, SAT 1555. But, the scattergram is a sea of red— much more red than green— there. And is still very red at 4.5, 1580. You really need at least 4.4, 1555 and something special— national title, national science fair winner, something. Or to be closer to 4.6.
