DP.. mine are similar, and I think it's personality. This is why I don't think the stereotype of "girls being better at house work than boys" rings true. As they say, it's nature + nurture. My DD is also a slob.

Considering my 3yo clears her own place and my 5yo clears the rest of the table, I'm fairly certain that they'll be rinsing their own plates and putting them in the dishwasher in just a few years.

No phones/devices until they show 3 consistent days of doing what you ask ought to do it.

My teens do a lot of chores around the house but somehow taking their own plates to the sink, scraping and putting in the dishwasher gets overlooked!

So annoying. It’s my current project to retrain them - if I remind them as they’re getting up they’ll do it. Otherwise the plate just sits here for days! It needs to become a habit again, like when they were 5.

Yes, 10 and 11. It is also their job to open up their lunch box and wash the containers.

For me, it would be balancing a checkbook. I haven't done that in ages. The other stuff seems normal.

NP here. If they were in boy scouts they might have learned sewing, cooking and personal finance there.

Often when I remind them to. Somehow sink was just as good? I don't think so. As for rinsing, I had two crap dishwashers so yes, that used to drive me nuts, not rinsing and putting it in a dishwasher only to come out gross. Now I have a brand new clean it all without rinsing dishwasher! They still rinse it due to being used to my nagging, but this darn dishwasher washes everything!

Yes, each kid is assigned either kitchen set up (dinner) or kitchen clean up (dinner) or morning kitchen (empty dishwasher and clean up from breakfast). Everyone takes their dishes to the sink and the person on clean up cleans the table and does all the dishes.

Everyone in the house has household responsibilities and has since they were young kids.

No. All the dishes go to the kitchen sink area and my H does all the dishes.

They unload the dishwasher.

I am the cook.

This is for dinner, for lunch etc... they will put their plate in the dishwasher.
