You all are making good money, but that is not always the norm. There are bunch of accounting people who make much much less than what you could imagine. Enjoy being privileged!
I started at a different big 4 firm in 2008, and the starting salary for all staff 1 was $52k.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I'm not making 100k as I'm only a first year associate but am making 60k in a large accounting firm. I had a friend start working at Deloitte about 10 years ago and they started her at $60K. One of my buddies here at the worked at KPMG a long time ago thinks he was paid close to $60K when he started there too. Funny how the large firms don't seem to be increasing their starting pay.

I'm trying to do some comparison so that I can figure out if I'm making the "right" amount for my position.
Let me go first: I'm manager in a small tax firm and making 100k plus bonus about 10-15%. I work around 50 hours during busy seasons. I have about 15 yrs of experience. I feel like I'm being under-paid.![]()
Anonymous wrote:How much do you work when it’s not tax season? I agree 50/week for busy season is not that high, comparatively.

How long do you plan on working?
Money is so good, but trying to get out now. I'm nearly 70.
Curious how you’re getting out. I’m the owner of a small firm, sometimes think of acquiring a small firm.
