In the 12-13 range you should watch Band of Brothers with them. Lights off, no devices, no interruptions.

Watched it with my 12yo. Not for the sensitive—plenty of dark, scary stuff with some really gory bits—or families who prohibit things like bad language and sexual content (heavily implied and discussed, but not explicit).

Mine loved it, and we didn’t find anything terribly objectionable, but it was a stretch at times. The sexual stuff wasn’t much worse than a lot of prime-time shows. There’s so much happening in the overall story that most of that stuff kind of zips past in a blur, though. Not the main focus, it’s there to move the plot along.

Just curious - how many of you have 10,11, 12 YO that have watched Stranger Things?

My 13 yo loves Blackish and we often watch as a family.

If they’re science- or engineering-loving kids, Scorpion is great. Every week a group of geniuses saves the day with creative application of science in the real world.

For fantasy lovers, Merlin is fun. Also Warehouse 13—agents tasked with tracking down and retrieving TV magical artifacts to be stored in an ancient warehouse. It’s got action, humor, and a little history thrown in sometimes.

And I second Agents of Shield, Doctor Who, The Good Place, and Brooklyn 99.

We just finished watching Locke and Key on Netflix. We binged it, though, so not really a "tv series."
