At the top level, I don't think it is reasonable to expect loyalty. For competitive soccer, the best players should be selected.

Partially true. But it is VERY coach dependent. McLean is very good at bringing in girls at the U15-U18 levels and bouncing McLean developed girls.

Isn't every club? I have had kids at a number of the top clubs and they're all like this. There is no loyalty anywhere. I've actually found McLean to be better than others.

You should consider the US womens senior National team. If your DD makes the squad she will have a shot at getting into a good school. Contact Jill Ellis, head coach for try out information.

What age group? 06? You should consider Metro United DA (former Spirit VA DA) part time option. They have ID sessions Mon and Wed of this week at Lake Fairfax Park. Contact coaches for further info.

Add that MYS was 1 of only 2 elite clubs for almost a decade.

Is it really that McLean is sending those kids to top schools because of their SOCCER? Or is it because McLean pulls from an area filled with wealthy, highly educated people who have the $$ to educate their children (and the expectations that their kids will perform in school) such that those students (who also happen to play soccer) can get in to those schools. Coincidence that the public high schools in McLean's geography are typically ranked amongst the top in the state? Or is it all the soccer?

Also, I should say, we tried a lot of different clubs with my other (older) child. Mclean has been our best experience both in terms of development and my child's overall experience. It's a well run organization (compared to others), the fields are great, the coaches have been very good (and also kind/decent people), the kids are nice. Overall a positive experience which I can't say at all about our time at other clubs. Maybe my expectations are too low but we've experienced much worse around the DMV. So yes, we'll take green and the known vs. risking worse elsewhere.

From what we observed, a lot of the girls were current Green and White 06 players trying their luck for ECNL.

Don't you only have 48 hrs to accept or decline an offer?
