No she is not a good coach. Yells, be littles players, undermines confidence, ices out players(ie will not talk to them at practice), gives conflicting instructions in the same yelling fit, no communication with parents, stifles creativity, girls play to avoid mistakes, risk taking is punished, fosters a mean girl environment, kills a lot of girls love for the game, girls never smile, etc. This is for u9-u11 girls. This does appeal to some parents. Her teams play better when there is a guest coach. I know a lot of players and parents are happy she is moving on.

Wow. I had no idea she was like this. I’m sure parents that tolerate this behavior cause they are one of the higher ranked teams in MoCo.

This coach’s type of behavior would surely shut my daughter down.

They tolerate the behavior because if its their first go at travel soccer they dont know otherwise- bethesda teams (at least girls) prior to U13 are mostly mediocre.
Pretty sure she had the top U12 team last year and they were not very good at all, but did improve leaps and bounds between last fall and last spring. Now many of those girls are greatly improved under Dave at the U13 level. She head coaches the younger girls and assist coaches a few of the ECNL teams.

I heard from another parent that Meggan Eckert is one of the coaches that is expected to leave BSC. I understand she’s a good coach but I never met her or saw her coach during a game.

LOL. So he, in essence, took BSC’s 2007 second team (White) to Potomac and made it the first team (Blue).

No this was another one with multiple coaches and girls leaving Potomac and joining BSC. it was a few years ago. Think it was the 2001 and 2000 age group.

Are you sure you are not thinking of '00 and '01 boys instead of girls? The girls' side of Potomac has been mostly lackluster for a very long time. I don't recall any girls of that age group moving over to Bethesda, though a bunch of boys did many years ago.

Good for him. Didn’t know he only took 3 players. Good for him for not raiding the entire team.

A few years ago, a BSC 2007 Girl’s Coach took his team to Potomac. The team is the 2007 Potomac Blue team.

Bringing in a new coach for one of two teams is a good shake up especially at the 05 level. That team was never as strong as Rush 05 and bringing the Rush players over might help the club build a truly elite team that can one day take the ECNL national title.

I do not know but didn’t BSC girls do the same thing a few years ago with Potomac- ie take a bunch if coaches and players? Some one told me that is why they have a strong older group. Is that true? Is that their strategy?
I though BSC lost a lot of girls last years. I heard in one age group the top team had to play with the second team because the second team did not have enough players. That age group was slated for four teams. These things happen but when you lose that much revenue don’t you have to look at leadership and ask some questions?
