This is me. 6 weeks vacation. There’s also sick leave, accrued separately. This is a job where you are “on” all the time, so there’s no expectation to take an hour of leave here and there for a doctor/dentist appt. So I only use vacation leave for actual vacation, and sick leave for when I’m home with my younger child and can’t get work done.
I’ve also worked at a small law firm with “unlimited” leave. You get screwed bc you can’t accrue anything for when you leave. There’s a separate parental leave policy with paid leave.
