Eh it depends. If you're 49 and you don't want kids (or more kids), you are wise to avoid 30-35 because they are at peak baby rabies. Someone in their 40s has probably resigned herself to no kids (or has them already and doesn't want more).

No, most of them date... 40 year olds. But yeah, I actually know two divorced women who ended up re-marrying guys 10-12 years younger, so it does happen. But most people, male and female, end up with partners within 5 years of their own age.

Who is saying that?

The ones who are saying that realistically, she doesn't have much chance to have kids, well, that's true enough but that's not the same as saying she's "spare parts".

One of her positives listed is that she’s not damaged inside and the advice is that she should look to dating men tend to 15 years older is pretty awful.

My divorced aunt is 67 and she gets dates all the time.

My reality as a mid-50s man: I have dated plenty of women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. The mid-20s women are a lot of fun. I expect to ultimately wind up with a woman about 8 years younger than me.

Project much? Nobody said that. What someone actually said was that she'd easily be able to date a guy in his 50s. True enough, if she wants that.

Actual reality is, she does not have a lot of options. There are not a lot of single, never married men over 40... and the ones that exist are probably messed up in some way... and she better get used to dating divorced dads. This is no different from divorced men in their 40s, who also better get used to dating single moms.
