It takes two seconds to look this stuff up - don’t try to manipulate people into not searching public records as it’s not going to help you. You can run but you can’t hide.

DP. I don’t have anything to hide, but there are at least 30 other people with my exact name and approximate age range with court records on Case Search. There is no way for a parent or student to determine which is me (a divorce and a bankruptcy) and not me (petty criminal stuff, some ugly civil suits). And none of it impacts my teaching or my students’ safety. I’m not even supposed to post a bikini pic from my honeymoon on SM because a student could find it, but parents are encouraged to do a deep dive into my court records. Feels a little intrusive.

This is the Washington Post article that describes how the principal at Damascus waited more than 12 hours to report the rapes that occurred in the locker room. She interviewed victims, suspects, and witnesses before the police were notified.

Oh Jesus. Never mind. I hadn't connected the dots that she is the principal at Damascus. My DD was at Eastern when she was principal -- DD and her friends had incidents in the lunch room of kids acting up physically, throwing things at them, etc. as well as my DD getting knocked down in the hallway and stepped on because the crowding was so bad, and Casey Crouse essentially blew our concerns off. My DD stopped eating in the lunchroom as a result. I realized it's a different issue than being more concerned about the reputation of the school over the safety of the kids there, but I was also always shocked at how poorly written her communications were (basic grammar issues). I was glad when she left EMS but I felt sorry at the time for the next school that got her. What a disaster.

And, most parents have that kind of time for things that potentially I nvolve their kids safety.

Also agree with the PP. there is zero trust in MCPS right now.

+1000 Zero trust in MCPS. As more information is reported by the Washington Post about the Damascus situation, MCPS does not always have the safety and wellbeing of students as their top priority.

Parents should tell their children to text them if Churchill tries to pull their child out of class for an interview. The child should not answer any questions without a parent present.

No one would be checking the judiciary database if they trusted the system. The fact is that there's no trust. And by the way, here's the link. It takes 4 seconds to put in a last name and click enter.

No email could mean that MCPS is trying to figure out how to spin what children are reporting to their parents. Something is wrong.

His alleged crime may be unconnected to students, but if kids saw the arrest and are coming home upset, there should have been a letter.

Interesting how many people were ready with pitchforks and torches over the Damascus AP’s DUI arrest which not a single kid saw, but this guy and Churchill are getting the benefit of the doubt. Smells like privilege.
