They should do more random screenings.

Huh? Why do you say this? Unless someone’s job requires health and safety does it really matter is some support staff person smokes in their free time?

Financial work or anything else that requires precision?

I would not allow my child to sleepover at a homecwhere I thought the parents would drink or smoke weed or need to use opioids.

Do you ask beforehand? I admit I’ve never asked if a sleepover host was going to have a glass or more of wine.

I’ve known the hosting parents very well for a long time before I’ve said yes so asking was not awkward. Plus, there have been prior opportunities to talk about drinking or drugs and generally the topic of impairment or distraction around kids.

Yep. There have been many sleepovers at my house where I've sat in the living room drinking a glass of wine and reading while the kids are playing.

Do an I share a joint most Friday or Saturday nights. I would never do that if a kid was sleeping over. Besides we only do it when our own kids are sleeping themselves. I usually have a glass of wine with dinner but wouldn’t have more than that.

I don't drink wine "to deal with my kids." So no, I would not leave my kids in the care of someone who needs mind-altering substances to "deal with" them.

A glass, yes. A bottle, no.

Honestly, this mom just sounds trashy. Who posts abou drug use on Facebook? Is she stuck in high school? That goes for the wine posts, too. I would question her overall maturity and judgment and not allow my kid over there.

I wouldn't send me kid knowing someone was going to be drinking either, just like I would abstain from drinking if I was hosting. I would never forgive myself if something happened and I was impaired. And this is coming from someone who had the occasional glass of wine while preganant.
