Why would CYA drop out of VDA and then do this?

Because VDA is getting ready to implode.

Based on?

05s lost to South Carolina United today and 06s almost tied BRYC. What happened to these supposed super teams?

So...because of a loss and an "almost" tie...you think that VDA is going to implode? Slightly dramatic...

Exactly! 06 team is still #1 in the conference and 05 team lost to SC United...who is #1 in the conference....no upset there.

05 just lost again!

The only person who would even care would be a McLean parent considering both Loudoun and BRYC are in the basement in this division and are not likely htting refresh on the standings.

You're a real peach. I'm sure your daughter is proud of you.

Go trash the team your daughter didn’t make on the VDA thread.

All the best players are already playing DA/ECNL so they would never be able to compete with them. The only club that has anything to gain is FCV from these B level clubs.

Clearly posted by a parent who believes that since they are able to write a check cover DA/ECNL, their kid is better at soccer.
Very sad that they believe there aren't SOME better soccer players who aren't in those leagues.

Make no mistake, I'm not saying there aren't talented players in those leagues, or that the only reason they are there is because they're parents have the cash.

Sure, there are some quality players that choose not to play in da or ecnl, but 95% of the top players will. To say that They are going to pull enough talent from those lower level VPL teams to form a team in each age group good enough to compete against those is ridiculous.

Anonymous wrote:All: VA1 is simply about making more money. For the kids that don’t make ECNL or da, this affords the participating clubs to charge these kids more money. They will pay for their regular teams AND the va1 competitions. Kinda like Super Y. That is all this is. It is a travel all star team for kids that don’t make da or ECNL. The time commitment for the VA1 kids will be even greater (cuz they will be on two teams) and the fees just as high once totaled up. The only slight advantage will be shorter, less frequent travel. It might afford some kids greater exposure than not participating, yes. But everything comes at a cost, and that is FCVs real motivation for starting this program. They are trying to keep their business afloat. Just like futsal and super y, it is another money grab. Kids that participate will get more soccer in against better competition. If that is worth it for you then participate, and if not, don’t.

Why is everyone acting like this is solely FCV driven?

The PP was absolutely right about people just spouting off about their agendas.

Personally, to me this is closer in line with a more focused, more local version of ODP.

You get some extra training, get to know some new coaches, play with some other kids and perhaps get a little more exposure.

There is no telling what the fees will be at this point but since multiple clubs are involved it is laughable to say this just a money grab for any single club and that FCV is the prime beneficiary fiscally.

This board used to have a lot of helpful information. Now it is just people spouting their own agendas.
